Abstract

The metropolitan area of Monterrey is experiencing rapid growth, territorial
expansion has segregated the peri-urban areas of the metropolis. Housing settlements suffer a decrease in their quality of life as their inhabitants make long trips to central areas, schools and work centers. The north-west of the city is the urban district with the highest population density and many residents travel by public transport. The objective of the research is to know the levels of residential satisfaction perceived by the inhabitants, linked to mobility and he location of the dwelling; a questionnaire emanating from the review of the literature was applied among residents of the sector. The results detail different aspects of the inhabitants who use public transport as the main means of getting around. The contribution of the research is to identify the needs and deficiencies perceived in the analyzed sector to implement strategies that increase the levels of residential satisfaction.
