Original title: Me nombraron wey: Observaciones de la identidad masculina regiomontana

Student Thesis: Student thesis Thesis
They Called Me Dude. Observations on Masculinity Monterrey is an artistic creation project that explores the concept of masculinity in the city of Monterrey, located in northeastern Mexico. This city is unique because the scorching sun impacts the harsh living conditions. Until the early 19th century, the area was not known for large population settlements like those in central and southern Mexico, where living conditions are more humane. Despite having been colonized since the first decades of the 16th century, it was not until the early 19th century that large industries were established in Monterrey, and the city experienced unprecedented development. The regiomontanos, as the original inhabitants of Monterrey and those who, with the development of industries, arrived and stayed, are known, boast of having forged the city hand in hand with the founding fathers of the city's great industries. This arduous work they developed resulted in a complex figure and discourse. One of the axes that support this discourse is based on the figure of masculinity, which becomes the key theme of each chapter of the text.
