Thesis
The aim of this study was to learn about the relationship between emotional dependence, early maladaptive schemes (EMS) and self-concept in women in a conjugal relationship. The sample was composed of 190 women from Nuevo León, Mexico. It was evaluated by means of a series of instruments that measured the three variables and a linear regression analysis was made. It was found that both self-concept and early maladaptive schemes predict emotional dependence. Also, the regression indices in the EMS factors were positively significant. This finding shows the importance of early maladaptive patterns within couple relationships and the strength they have to predict emotional dependence in the future.
