Thesis
Through this research project, the profitability of incorporating Light Electric Vehicles (LEV) into last-mile distribution systems is evaluated, seeking to identify under which ideal conditions this type of vehicle can be used profitably. The research project is based on the need to develop more eco-friendly distribution vehicles, and direct data from a pilot test on the subject carried out by the Colombian research company Logyca®, based in Bogotá. The project is carried out based on a proprietary intervention methodology that includes 6 phases, which are summarized in the definition of the project, literature review, analysis of the results of the pilot test, mathematical modeling, sensitivity analysis, and the conclusions. of the project. This study carries out in-depth research on the subject, through an SLR, thoroughly exploring the mathematical optimization models that have been developed around the world, trying to incorporate LEV into logistics distribution models to, eventually, identify the need for documentation. of the process of building such a model that minimizes operating costs. The mathematical model in question is constructed and documented here and is accompanied by a sensitivity analysis that studies different factors and response variables of interest.
