This project aimed to compare the behavior of additively manufactured Ti6Al4V with forged Ti6Al4V to determine their performance in biomedical applications. Fatigue and wear tests were mainly conducted, as they are two of the most common failure mechanisms in prostheses. The results showed that the printed material exhibits better wear resistance, while the forged material performed better in fatigue. These findings allow for the identification of which type of implant each material is most suitable for, depending on the loading conditions it will be subjected to.
