Abstract

Intimate partner violence includes various acts that can be harmful to the people involved and includes expressions of physical, psychological or sexual abuse, having the potential to negatively impact the quality of life of those who suffer from it. The university population is a risk group regarding this problem because they are in a key stage of acquiring autonomy and skills for their professional life. The objective was to identify the types of intimate partner violence experienced, to analyze the perceived severity of behaviors of this type, and to discover the relationship between intimate partner violence and the QoL of university students. 269 university students from Mexico and Colombia participated, the Violence Scale (VA) and Severity Index (SI) of Valdez-Santiago et al. (2006) and the subscale of General Satisfaction with life and well-being of the Quality of Life
