Abstract
This research analyzes the development of generic competences in research
and in the research process, in postgraduate students of a private university
in Mexico. The methodology was quantitative and based on a survey. The
results reflect that the competences with less development are the
formulation of the problem and methodological design. The variables age
and previous training in postgraduate, affect the development of the
competition linked to the approach of the research project.
