Abstract

This paper describes the development of an interactive virtual tour designed to help biomedical engineering students explore clinical environments and understand infrastructure and equipment requirements based on Mexican healthcare regulations. Using 360° image capture with LiDAR and Matterport platform, clinical areas were documented and integrated into a virtual environment in Unreal Engine. Informational notes were embedded through Blueprints to highlight key regulatory standards. The digital resource was deployed online and preliminary evaluated by an education expert, a faculty member, and two students using adapted quality rubrics. Results showed strengths in usability and content clarity, with opportunities for improvement in interactivity and student assessment. The resource demonstrates potential as a digital educational tool and will continue improving through the integration of learning activities and broader user testing.
