Leisure, Work and Meaning of Life under Neoliberalism

This article critically discusses the neoliberal vision of work as a passion and its role in the question regarding the meaning of life. I present two alternatives to this approach. The first, which I judge insufficient, is based on a hedonistic perspective on leisure. The second focuses on what I call “significant leisure”, which is characterized by autotelic activities, with a self-propagating structure, and guided by the Aristotelian principle.
