Abstract

© 2016 Sociedad Mexicana de Oftalmología Meibography is a technology that allows us to evaluate the morphology of the Meibomian glands in vivo in a noninvasive manner and with little or no discomfort to the patient. New technologies in the market allow us to do it without touching the patient and with the help of computer programs can be assessed objectively and quantitatively the loss of the Meibomian glands. Other imaging technologies such as confocal microscopy can also analyze the cellular tissue adjacent to the Meibomian glands to monitor treatment response. This review examines the Meibography since its inception and the latest developments in this area.
