The Good Life of Sebastião Salgado: A reading of The Salt of the Earth

Departing from Sinnerbrink's proposal for an ethical approach to films and framed in Ricoeur's ethical aspiration to lead a good life, an analysis of the documentary film The Salt of the Earth by directors Wim Wenders and Juliano R. Salgado is proposed. The text studies the ethical problems that presuppose the representation of the pain and suffering of others around the narrative of a life well lived in reference to the Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado, at the levels of the text, the authors, the critical reception and historical-cultural and ideological perspectives.
