The purpose of this article is to analyze the Social Economy in Ecuador, from a qualitative approach, through case studies of the most representative companies in the solidarity economy. Currently, these companies are mostly made up of indigenous people and peasants, with these organizations assuming alternative development platforms in the rural communities of the Sierra and the Amazon.
