We don't get out of this alone

The phenomenon of globalization has made us deepen the models of human behavior. The concept is circumscribed not in uniformity but in what contemporary thinkers have called an inseparable whole, that is, social reality as a whole. In this sense, COVID-19 has forced us to enter into this perspective of globalization. In seeing the world, life and society as a fabric, in which all members are interdependent, interrelated, and interretroactive. This vision seems to contradict what was stated by the French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre (“Is hell the others?”) in his work Behind Closed Doors (1944), in a context that could seem totally different from ours. What Sartre mentioned is interesting, since he uses the religious literary figure of hell as a situation in which one must inevitably only suffer and suffer for what the other does. The author, in a verse of the work, defines the state in which Dante was inspired for eternal punishment, the meaning of his look at the other: “When relations with the other are twisted, flawed, then the other alone It could be hell," he says.
