Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyse the public policy implementation against trafficking in persons for sexual exploitation in Nuevo León, Mexico during the 2007-2019 period. The methodology is both documentary, based on specialized literature on the subject, and qualitative, through semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders. It was found that although the state of Nuevo León occupies the first places at the national level in this crime, the issue is not on the government's institutional agenda and there is a lack of coordination between the federal government and the local government. There is a lack of legislative harmonization on the subject and a lack of a special program at the local level both for prevention and reaction against this crime.
