MOOC and justice education

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) are becoming increasingly popular. As no prerequisites are required from the participants, everyone has access to a wide catalog of high quality courses, offered by prestigious universities like Harvard University or Sorbonne, often at no cost. A MOOC has three main components: video lessons, assignments and tools for interactions with professors and with peers. Although courses in computer science predominate, MOOC platforms also provide legal education. Courses on constitutional law, contracts and international law, navigate the vast waters of the MOOC offer. These courses focus on law students as they offer specialization on certain domains. However, MOOC could be a great oportunity to provide legal education on relevant subjects that may concern a wider public: human rights protection, consumer rights, tax law, civil and political rights…
