Resumen
Economic growth in Mexico has been a concern to be attended in the country; one way to achieve this is through competitiveness with a better level of education, which is an incentive to obtain higher income for the working population. The present research focused on a microeconomic analysis of the relationship between income and education, applying the Mincer model, showing the relationship of the age, marital status, level of education and unionization of the worker with the income per hour worked by gender in Mexico. The Encuesta Nacional sobre Niveles de Vida de los Hogares (ENNViH-3) of 2009 was used as a database using the Heckman two-stage method to determine if education levels contribute to higher income per hour worked and if is deferred by gender in the country.
