In this investigation, the effects of aerodynamic external surfaces was analyzed to explore the effects and applications of current aerodynamic surfaces such as spoilers, rear wings and canards in a passenger vehicle to determine if an aerodynamic surface could also be designed to enhance vehicle control in lateral dynamics. CFD simulations, and wind tunnel tests were done to find the forces the proposed surface had, and they were later implemented on a planar dynamics bicycle dynamic model as an external force to find the effects it had on the vehicle trajectory. It was found that the effects generated by this aerodynamic surface were significant enough to affect greatly the trajectory of a vehicle.
