Abstract
Today, as a society, we are faced with a world that is too advanced and too controlling to allow young people to decide with certainty what they want for their future. In a city as developed as the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey (ZMM), we "have" the tools to train students according to a pre-established goal. But great minds excel in understanding by collaboration, problem solving, and creativity in them.The present project aims to repurpose an architecturally iconic building as a hub for youth on their journey toward discovering their life's vocation. This space utilizes disruptive design as a means to attract and promote youth collaboration in environments that differ from traditional settings, providing Monterrey with an innovative infrastructure that has been re-adapted and reconfigured to align with the existing modernist architecture of the 1960s that characterizes the building.
This initiative will serve as a driver for the development of the downtown area, not only contributing to the economic revitalization of the region but also introducing new ways for young individuals to explore vocational guidance techniques at an early age. It will offer a space, supported by both public and private sectors, that fosters environments for ideation, collaboration, experimentation, and connection. Additionally, it will serve as a benchmark in interior design for multifunctional spaces, employing innovative techniques in organizing existing architectural programs. It will also advance the field by exploring multimodal furniture design techniques, enabling interior designers to consolidate projects in a more holistic manner.
