Vasculitis de retina secundaria a sífilis ocular en un paciente VIH positivo

Abstract

Introduction: With the increment in AIDS cases, the incidence in syphilis infections has increase, and the clinic manifestations have been diversified. Case report: We present a case of a 29 years old male with visual loss of 3 weeks of evolution in left eye. Ophthalmic exploration reveals moderate inflammation in anterior segment, vitritis and non occlusive retinal vasculitis in both eyes. Laboratory tests reveals positiveness for VDRL, FTA-ABS and VIH. Conclusions: The knowledge of infrequent manifestations of syphilis infection are transcendental for the adequate treatment of this patients.
