Abstract

The topics here mentioned are related to the interaccion that is encountered in the modernity of the Internet, its constant use, and the effects that the acces might have on the young population. The purpose its to know if there is an existing relationship between the levels of usage of Internet, social comparison, and the levels of loneliness perceived and due to its constant growth, the use of the Internet is attributed a negative impact on young people. An empirical cuantitative study, of transversal cut was conducted with analisis of the variables ex post facto. The sample consisted of 206 participants, active members of at least one social media site, Spanish speakers, between the ages of 18-34. The results indicate that the greater the compulsive use of the internet, the greater the ascending social comparison.
