Abstract

CCD photometry of asteroids 71 Niobe and 340 Eduarda were obtained at the Universidad de Monterrey Observatory during 2006. Eduarda was also observed at the Palmer Divide Observatory during December 2006. A synodic rotation period of 8.0062 ± 0.0004 hours and an amplitude of 0.26 ± 0.02 magnitudes was obtained for 340 Eduarda from seven nights of observations at both observatories. A refined rotation period for 71 Niobe is presented from combining 13 nights of observations between January and April 2006 from the Universidad de Monterrey Observatory with previously published data. The resulting synodic period is 35.81 ± 0.01 hours from a total of 25 nights of observations.
