Reliability Weibull Analysis for Structural Evaluation of Bioactive Films Obtained by Sol-Gel Process

Abstract

The structural evaluation of bioactive films obtained by sol-gel process was performed using reliability Weibull analysis. The experimental sample was obtained by microscope colorless glass slides of 75 mm × 25 mm × 1 mm coated with a suspension of a sol of silica and bioactive glass particles. Three point flexure test was used to measure the fracture force. The results show that the flexural strength average of the coated samples have lower values whose difference is not statistically significant with respect to the uncoated samples.
