Abstract

© 2015 IEEE. This work describes the strategy of a leading Mexican food firm to improve its inbound transportation cost level. This is based on the application of a broad scheme for identifying and assessing areas for improving based on supplier negotiation, increasing operations efficiency and redesigning distribution schemes. The partial results of the implementation of the improvement initiatives have been important for the company, and some are still in progress.
