Abstract

Modernity and social imbalance, great riches and the difficulties of life: more than 200 Mexican artists reproduce the vision of a country and its creativity on the Imago Mundi canvasses. A plurality of viewpoints which, together, show innovation, vitality and revolt, and which bring positive glimmers for the future of Mexican expressive culture, for some years now a reference point for contemporary art thanks to the dynamism of its artists, collectors, private foundations and museums. Contemporary visual echoes that describe a reliable mapping of the contemporary Mexican scene, reflecting, in metaphorical or allusive terms, the violence that characterizes the current reality of the country, to which art – as always – vigorously juxtaposes beauty.
