Labeling of food products in Mexico

Abstract

As a specific measure to prevent diabetes in Mexico, the authors suggest in this letter to the editor that the labeling of food products show the glycemic index, in order to promote healthy eating habits. Como una medida concreta para prevenir la diabetes en México, en la presente carta al editor los autores sugieren que en el etiquetado de los productos alimenticios se presente el índice glucémico, a fin de promover buenos hábitos alimenticios.
