Abstract

The architectural project constitutes the essential task of the professional practice of
Architecture. This work analyzes the digitalization of architectural projects in Nuevo León,
Mexico; having as specific objectives: to describe the phases of the architectural project;
point out the digital tools used as supports in digitalization; as well as identifying the digital
representation techniques applied in architectural projects. The study, with a quantitative,
descriptive, transactional approach and methodology, analyzed the data collected from 75
architecture professionals, using descriptive statistical techniques. The results showed that
in all stages of the architectural project, the most widely used digital tools are CAD, followed
by modeling and rendering, and to a lesser extent by those associated with the use of BIM;
constituting the techniques of digital drawing in 2D and 3D as the most important in the whole
process, ensuring not only the digitization of the project, but also the progressive use of
digital technologies in architectural representation and making.
