Financial Performance and Optimal Capital Structure in listed Mexican companies.

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

The way a company obtains the necessary resources to carry out its operation is a decision that can be of great importance in the development of a company. Financing mostly with own capital or doing it through debt, can have effects and implications in financial performance, therefore, the management of a company must seek the best possible capital structure, thus maximizing the financial results obtained. In the context of this work, the main concepts and existing theories on capital structure were reviewed and analyzed. An analysis was then carried out on a sample of 88 listed Mexican companies, determining the capital structure used and the effects of said structure on financial performance, to finally make some theoretical contributions regarding an optimal capital structure.
