Rixio Gerardo Portillo Rios is venezuelan, graduated from the University of Zulia, in the School of Social Communication in the Department of Advertising and Public Relations (2005), with postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of LUZ in Business Management Marketing (2011), studied Digital Journalism at the Gregorian University in Rome, and Human Development with CELADIC, awarded with the Mons. Pellín (2005) garanted by Venezuelan Episcopal Conference. With doctoral studies at the Istituto Universitario Sophia in Loppiano, Italy (2020).

He is a research professor at the University of Monterrey, in the Department of Film and Communication; in Venezuela he was a professor at the University of Zulia (2013 - 2017), and at the Catholic University Cecilio Acosta, where he served in the following positions: Director of Social Communication Program, mention Social Development (2011 - 2013); Director of Communications (2013 - 2015); and Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences (2015 - 2017).

He is currently a writer for Vida Nueva (Spain - Colombia), El Pitazo (Venezuela), with participations in the magazines: Limes On Line (Italy), Ciudad Nueva (Iberoamerican), 360 UDEM (Mexico), and Tres Puntos (Mexico).
