Dr. Rafael León-Cachón is a young entrepreneur, investor, chemist-scientist author of scientific papers and developer of molecular diagnostic methods. Also, he has experience as a financial advisor, project management and research protocols in the area of health sciences and molecular biology.
Dr. Leon-Cachón was born in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, where he graduated as a pharmaceutical biologist at Faculty of Chemistry from the Autonomous University of Yucatan. In 2007 he moved to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico where he completed his MSc and PhD in Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering at the School of Medicine from the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon.
Currently, he lives in Nuevo Leon and is an associate professor, researcher, innovator, developer and consultant at the University of Monterrey. As a research scientist, he has been the author and co-author of several scientific articles published in international journals and awarded several prizes in clinical and biomedical research. Currently, he is member of the National System of Researchers level 1.
About your work experience:
He has designed, performed, and implemented experimental procedures within the general scope of complex research, development, and validation projects for the development of diagnostic tests.
He has strong technical knowledge and experience in molecular biology methods and assay development such as DNA/RNA extractions, PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, capillary sequencing and next generation sequencing.
He has experience with NGS and basic bioinformatics tools for NGS analysis, by implementing the sequencing and molecular diagnostics laboratory at the University of Monterrey and private industry.
Responsible for designing and solving experimental problems. Providing technical, administrative, financial expertise and solving-problem.
Designs and conducts experiments to accomplish establish goals, and summarize data, interpret results, and draw conclusions.
Reviewing, analyzing, and developing clinical trial documents (ie, study protocol, informed consents, investigator brochures with minimal instructions).
Experience with clinical trial registries and GCP, applicable from study inception to publication of results and supporting publications as required.
He has strengts in reviewing and manuscript development, in addition to funding applications and advanced data analysis using statistical programs and biotechnology softwares.
Experience in the private industry so it is closely related to customer satisfaction.
