Description
Immersive technologies allow the userinteract with virtual objects, through gestures and sounds that are captured by equipment
IT. This research aims to assess the use of immersive technologies as a pedagogical strategy for the practice and learning of design, using augmented reality and virtual reality. Of an exploratory type, with contemporary design, and a qualitative approach, it had the participation of 60 students from the University of Monterrey, from the Schools of Architecture and Habitat Sciences and Art and Design, who designed an object synchronously and in real time connected in the same modeling room. The results demonstrate the usefulness of augmented reality for design, as it allows collaborative work, compartmentalization and overlapping of digital information on the users' horizon, facilitating reviews and virtual prototyping of the object as a work product. In addition, the immersive experience introduces the students' approach to modeling technologies as their first experience in digital design.
